Shyam Nath Temple

Baba Shyam Nath Temple, located in the center of Sitapur city of Uttar Pradesh, has been the center of people’s faith for more than two hundred years. Here there is a flood of faith throughout the month of Shravan. Devotees coming from different areas of the district worship Lord Shiva.

History of the temple

Regarding the greatness of the temple, it is said that while felling the forest in 1800, Shyamnath Goswami had found a big stone under a tree. They tried to break it considering it to be an ordinary stone but as soon as it was attacked, blood started flowing. Shyamnath thought this is not an ordinary stone.He made a small platform and installed it there and started offering prayers daily. Gradually its discussion spread everywhere and became the center of people’s faith. In 1870, Parameshwara Goswami gave it the shape of a small monastery.

The temple complex is well prepared for the devotees to have darshan. The temple is decorated and beautified by the priests. To ensure that the devotees do not face any kind of problem, special care is taken about the lighting arrangements and cleanliness in the temple premises.
