Shila Mata Temple located in Amer is special because of this

Shila Mata Temple located in Amer was built by Raja Mansingh I in the 16th century. The idol of Mata installed here was brought from Jessore in East Bengal. In the upper part of this Ashtabhuja statue made of shiny black stone, small sized statues of Ganesha, Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu and Saraswati are engraved on the head from left to right. The main gate of the temple is made of silver.

This idol was found in the form of a rock, hence it is called Shila Mata.

How To Reach

Amer is about 10 kilometers from Jaipur city. One can reach here by private vehicle, bus or taxi. The nearest airport is Sanganer which is about 24 kilometers from here. The bus stand and railway station are about 14 and 15 kilometers from here respectively.
