Kamika Ekadashi fast breaking – 05.32 am – 08.18 am (14 July 2023)

The fast of Kamika Ekadashi is considered incomplete without the story.
It is written in Vishnu Purana that the devotee who fasts on the first Ekadashi of Chaturmas does not have the fear of untimely death.

Once Dharmaraja Yudhishthir was eager to know the glory of Kamika Ekadashi from Lord Shri Krishna in the month of Sawan, then Lord Shri Krishna told that there lived a powerful man in a village, his nature was very angry. One day he had a fight with a Brahmin from the village. In the dispute that strong man killed the Brahmin.
Then all the villagers socially boycotted him because he was guilty of Brahma murder.

“On being expelled from the society he asked a sage as to how he could be freed from this defect.
The sage said, you should observe Kamika Ekadashi fast to atone for the sin of killing Brahma. On Kamika Ekadashi of Sawan, worship Lord Vishnu according to the rituals and donate. Provide food to Brahmins.That powerful person observed the Kamika Ekadashi fast as per the advice of the sage and with its effect he became free from all sins. After that the fast of Kamika Ekadashi is observed. It is said that those people who worship Shri Hari in Shravan, all the gods, Gandharvas and Sun etc. get worshipped.
