Panki Hanuman Temple and Shri Panchmukhi Hanuman is an ancient and famous temple of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, which is completely dedicated to Lord Hanuman. People come not only from Kanpur but from all over India to seek blessings of Lord Hanuman Ji at Panki Hanuman Temple.The person who comes to this temple with a true heart for the blessings and darshan of Lord Hanuman, his wishes are fulfilled.
Although there is no actual evidence available about the history of the temple, but according to legend, this temple is about 400 years old. It was founded by Shri 1008 Mahant Parshotam Das Ji. It is also believed that Panki Hanuman temple was established before the establishment of Kanpur city. It is said that Mahant ji was once returning from Chitrakoot. Then at the place where Panki temple is, they saw a rock on which Bajrang Bali could be seen. Just then he decided to build a temple at that place.Today the same temple is known as Panki Temple.
It is believed that Lord Hanuman is seen in divine form in Panki temple. It seems that the appearance of God’s face changes three times in a day. With the rise of the sun in the morning the face of the Lord can be seen in the form of a child Hanuman. During the afternoon the face of the Lord is seen in the form of a youth (celibate). By evening Lord Hanuman is seen as a great man (brilliant).
A large number of people come to Panki Hanuman Temple for darshan, but every Tuesday a very large number of people come for blessings and darshan, the administration also has to make special arrangements.
