This is the history of the temple

The history of the temple is about 600 to 700 years old. Earlier it was called Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple. When this forest was cut 600-700 years ago, people found a Shivalinga and a temple here. Due to its location in the Bilva Patra forest, it was called Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple.

A fair is held at the temple on Monday of Sawan.

The importance of this temple is very high due to its location on the banks of river Yamuna. A grand fair is organized here on Monday of Sawan. Lord Shiva is decorated grandly. Everyone gets mesmerized after seeing her makeup. Yamuna river flows near the temple which makes the environment here more beautiful. A fair is held on the Yamuna river on Monday of Sawan. Not only from Agra but Shiva devotees from far away places come here. There is a tradition of offering water on Shivalinga in this temple during Shiva Parikrama held on Monday of Sawan in Agra.
