Mandir Shri Ramchandra Ji, Chandpol Bazaar, Jaipur
The queen had built this huge temple at her personal expense.
While the worshipable deity of Chhoti Kashi i.e. Jaipur is Govinddev Ji, there are many other ancient temples in this city. One such special temple is the temple of Lord Ramchandra ji located in Chandpol Bazar. The specialty of this magnificent temple is its unmatched craftsmanship. The huge Jagmohan and beautiful pillars of the temple attract everyone’s attention. The intricate work done on these pillars is an excellent example of ancient craftsmanship.
It is said that in place of the temple there was earlier a garden and a temple of Lord Shiva. During the reign of Sawai Ram Singh II, his Highness Gulab Kanwar Dhirawatji had built this temple about 125 years ago. The special thing is that the Queen had spent her personal expenses on this.
Four big squares have been built in this huge area. Along with Lord Ramchandra, statues of Mata Janaki, brother Lakshman Bharat and Shatrughan are also present in the temple. The tourists who come here to get a glimpse of the craftsmanship of the Pink City i.e. Jaipur, also visit this temple with enthusiasm.
Darshan timings in the temple:
Darshan in the temple is open throughout the day. The doors are closed for a few hours during the day. A nine-day celebration is organized here on the occasion of Ram Janmotsav. Celebrations are organized every day from the first day of the new year i.e. from Padwa to Dashami.
