Ranakpur Jain Temple

This temple dedicated to Lord Adinath is spread over approximately 40,000 square feet.

Ranakpur temple is situated at a distance of about 100 kilometers from Udaipur city, famous as the city of lakes in Rajasthan. Surrounded by forests and natural beauty, this temple is a unique presentation of Indian architecture. At the time of construction of the temple, Rana Sanga was in power, hence the name of the temple was Ranpura, which later came to be known as Ranakpura.

This temple dedicated to Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara of Jainism, is spread over approximately 40,000 square feet. According to public opinion, this temple was built around 1446 AD. Was done in. It is believed that its construction work lasted for 50 years and approximately 99 lakh rupees of that time were spent. The temple has been constructed in such a way that whichever direction the visitor goes, the temple will look the same. It has four artistic doors in its four directions. There are a total of 1444 beautifully carved pillars in the temple, which are identical. The special thing is that if the pillars are seen from any direction, they appear big or small. The temple is also called Chaturmukh Temple, because in the middle of the temple there are four 72-inch identical idols of Lord Adinath, which can be seen in all four directions. The feet of Lord Rishabhdev are also present here. Cellars have also been built to keep the statues safe in case of any calamity.

According to Jainism, there are 4 prayer rooms and places of worship for performing sadhana and 76 small holy places are also built. It is believed that the person who visits this temple gets liberated from 84 births and attains salvation.

Apart from Jain visitors, other visitors can visit the temple from 12 to 5 noon. There are arrangements for accommodation and food in the temple.

The temple can be visited from sunrise to sunset.
