A body of fire comes and gets situated in between them. Both of them start searching for its beginning and end but they are unable to succeed. The sound of Om was coming from it. Brahma ji and Vishnu ji understood that this was Shakti and they themselves started worshiping Om. Shiva was pleased with his worship and granted him a boon and disappeared. According to Linga Mahapuran, this was the first Shivalinga of Lord Shiva. After the establishment of this Linga, Lord Vishnu and Brahma Ji themselves worshiped Shivalinga. This is the same Shivalinga which is worshiped today in Lakhamandal.

This is how this Shivalinga appeared in Kaliyuga

Regarding the appearance of this unique Shivalinga, it is said that a person from Lakhamandal saw a saint in his dream telling him that he was stuck in a swamp and should get him out. When the person reached the place seen in the dream and dug with the help of other people, this Shivalinga was seen there. Later in the post-Gupta period, in the seventh century, Ishwara, daughter of the Yadu dynasty ruler of Singhpur, Shribhaskar Varman, had built a Shiva temple in Lakha Mandal in memory of her husband Srichandra Gupta (ruler of Jalandhar). Two stone inscriptions have been found from the premises of the historical temple. Similarly, the mystery of a language written on the rocks kept in two caves here remains till today.

Yudhishthir himself had installed Shivalinga at this place during his exile. This Shivalinga is known as Mahamandeshwar. A very beautiful temple was built where Yudhishthir had installed Shivalinga. Just in front of the Shivalinga, two gatekeepers are seen standing facing west.
There is also a belief about Mahamandaleshwar Shivalinga that any woman, for the purpose of having a son, sits at the main gate of the temple on the night of Mahashivratri and chants the Shiv Mantra while gazing at the lamp of the Shivalaya, she will be blessed with a son within a year. it occurs.
