Why clap three times in Shiva temple

Share

Paheli Tali – is played to indicate the presence of Shiva. Second clap – Even if we do not ask anything from Shankarji, Lord Shiva will fill our house with treasures.

Third clap – To attain the headship of Shiva When Ravana, the ruler of Lanka, clapped three times, he got the kingdom of Lanka. Lord Krishna had 16108 queens – they did not have children, then after sitting with each queen, they anointed the Shivalinga and clapped thrice, then ‘1, 77, 186’ children were born in the house of Lord Krishna, by the grace of Shiva.

When Lord Shri Ram was working to build the Shetu and the Shetu was not being built, then Lord Rama also pleased Lord Shankar by clapping three times in front of Shivling. And said that the stone with Ram’s name written on it will float in water.
