Sati’s elbow fell here

If you are going to Ujjain to visit Mahakal, then definitely visit Harsiddhi Temple also. Shri Harsiddhi Temple is considered to be the 13th Shaktipeeth among the 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata Sati.

Mahakal is in the east of Shri Harsiddhi Temple and Ramghat is in the west. devotees in all months of the year
Along with Mahakal, worship of Harsiddhi Shaktipeeth is also considered mandatory in Ujjain. There is a huge crowd here on Navratri and hundreds of lamps are lit simultaneously for nine days.

Shri Yantra is built in the assembly hall in front of the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Harsiddhi temple. It is said that this is a Siddha Shree Yantra and only by seeing this great Yantra one gets the benefit of virtue. There is also Karkotkeshwar Mahadev temple of Lord Shiva in the courtyard of the temple, which is one of the eighty-four Mahadevs. People believe that Kaalsarp Dosh is resolved here. Two eternal lights remain lit in the middle of the temple courtyard. There are four entrances in all directions of the courtyard and inside the main entrance, there are two lamp garlands in front of Harsiddhi Sabhagrah. These lamp holders are from the Maratha period. There is also a sacred stone coated with turmeric and vermillion which is the center of people’s faith.

According to history, Mother Harsiddheshwari was the worshipable goddess of Emperor Vikramaditya, who later came to be known as ‘Mangalchandiki’. It is said that Vikramaditya cut his head 11 times and offered it at the feet of the mother, but he remained alive and healthy. According to mythology, once Dakshraj, father of Mother Sati, organized a grand yagya. Mother Sati was present in that yagya festival. Seeing Shiva being insulted by Daksharaj, Mother Sati became angry and jumped into the fire. Knowing this, Shiva became angry and started traveling around the world with the dead body of Mother Sati. When there was an outcry in the world, Lord Vishnu used Sudarshan Chakra to disillusion Shiva with the dead body of Sati. The body of Mother Sati was broken into many pieces by the Chakra. The 13th piece of them fell at this place in Ujjain in the form of the elbow of Mother Sati. Since then Maa was established here as Harsiddhi Temple.

Darshan timings in the temple:

The temple is open throughout the day. Special adornment of the mother is done twice a year on the Dashami of Chaitra Navratri and Dashami of Ashwin month. The consecration of Goddess Bhagwati takes place in Brahma Muhurta and Aarti takes place at 7:30 and 10 am in the morning and at 9 pm at night.
