Mad Gopeshwar Temple Kanda Uttarakhand
Gopeshwar Mahadev is the only Shiva temple in the area. Here special worship of Lord Shiva is done on Shivratri. The priests of the temple are Rawal people. Villager Prayag Singh Bhandari told that the establishment of the temple is said to be of Dwapar era. He told that Shiva Linga itself is believed to have originated here.Whose depth is till Bhadravati river. When water is offered to this Shivling, it is not visible outside. It is said that the water passes through Shivling and enters the river. He told that when there is no rain in the area, Sastra Ghat water is offered to this temple. After this people’s wishes are fulfilled. He told that once the father of the head priest had closed the Shivalinga with cement. After which disaster struck the area. After which the temple was rebuilt. Devotees performed Jalabhishek and worshiped in the temple throughout the day of Shivratri. Asked for blessings of happiness and prosperity from Lord Shiva.
