The stories of Lord Shri Ganesha are described in many religious texts. There are many things related to Lord Shri Ganesh in these stories which very few people know. 1👉 According to Shivmahapuran, the idea of ​​building Shri Ganesh was given to Mother Parvati by her friends Jaya and Vijaya. Jaya-Vijaya had told Parvati that all the people like Nandi etc. follow only the orders of Mahadev. Therefore, you should also create a group which will only obey your orders. On thinking like this, Mother Parvati created Lord Ganesha from the dirt of her body.

2👉 According to Shivmahapuran, the color of Shri Ganesha’s body is red and green. The Durva offered to Lord Ganesha should be rootless, twelve fingers long and with three knots. Lord Ganesha should be worshiped for 101 or 121 such Durvas.

3👉 According to Brahmavaivarta Purana, Mother Parvati had observed a fast named Punyak to get a son, as a result of this fast, Lord Shri Krishna was born to Mother Parvati in the form of a son.

5👉 According to Brahmavaivarta Purana, when the head of Mother Parvati’s son was cut off after being seen by Shani, Lord Shri Hari went towards the north riding on Garuda and brought back the head of a elephant boy sleeping with an elephant on the banks of Pushpabhadra river. Sri Hari brought the head of that elephant back to life by placing it on the torso of the headless son of Mother Parvati.

6👉 According to Brahmavaivarta Purana, once due to some reason Lord Shiva got angry and attacked the Sun with a trident. Suryadev became unconscious due to this blow. When Suryadev’s father Kashyap saw this, he got angry and cursed Lord Shiva that just as my son’s body was destroyed by your trident today, in the same way your son’s head will also be cut off. As a result of this curse, Lord Shri Ganesha’s head was cut off.

7👉 According to Brahmavaivarta Purana, once Tulsidevi was passing through the banks of Ganga, at that time Lord Ganesha was also doing penance there. Seeing Shri Ganesh, Tulsi’s mind got attracted towards him. Then Tulsi told Shri Ganesh that you become my master but Shri Ganesh refused to marry. Out of anger, Tulsi cursed Shri Ganesh to marry and Shri Ganesh cursed Tulsi to become a tree.

8👉 According to Shivmahapuran, Shri Ganesh is married to Siddhi and Buddhi, daughters of Prajapati Vishwaroop. Shri Ganesh has two sons, their names are Kshetra and Labh.

9👉 According to Shivmahapuran, when Lord Shiva was going to destroy Tripura, a voice came from the sky that unless you worship Lord Ganesha, you will not be able to destroy all the three cities. Then Lord Shiva called Bhadrakali and worshiped Gajanana and won the war.

10👉 According to Brahmavaivarta Purana, once when Parashurama reached Kailash to have darshan of Lord Shiva, the Lord was in meditation. Then Lord Ganesha did not allow Parashuram to meet Lord Shiva. Angered by this, Parshuramji attacked Shri Ganesh with an axe. Lord Shiva himself had given that ax to Parashurama. Shri Ganesh did not want to let the blow of that ax go waste, so he took the blow of that ax on his tooth, due to which one of his teeth broke. Since then he is also called Ekadant.

12👉 According to Ganesh Purana, there are 8 ganas in prosody – Magan, Nagaan, Bhagan, Yagan, Jagan, Ragan, Sagan, Tagan. Due to being its presiding deity, he has also been given the name of Ganesha. Letters are also called Gana. Because of his God, he is called Ganesha, hence he is also said to be the giver of knowledge and wisdom.
