An unknown truth of Ramayana

Only Lakshman could kill Meghnad, what was the reason?..Read the whole story.‼️

The story of Hanumanji’s devotion to Ram is sung all over the world. Laxmanji’s devotion was also amazing. Shri Ram Katha is not complete without the story of Lakshmanji. Agastya Muni came to Ayodhya and the incident of Lanka war broke out.‼️

Lord Shri Ram told how he killed fierce heroes like Ravana and Kumbhakarna and Lakshman also killed powerful demons like Indrajit and Atikaya.‼️

Sage Agastya said – Shri Ram, of course Ravana and Kumbhakarna were very brave, but the greatest brave was Meghnadh. He fought with Indra while being in space and brought him to Lanka by tying him.‼️

When Brahma asked Indra as a gift from Indrajit, Indra was freed. Lakshman killed him and hence he became the greatest warrior. Shri Ram was surprised but he was happy with the praise of his brother’s bravery. Still, curiosity arose in his mind as to why Sage Agastya was saying that killing Indrajit was more difficult than killing Ravana.

Sage Agastya said – Lord Indrajit had a boon that only he could kill him. One who has not slept for fourteen years, who has not seen the face of any woman for fourteen years and who has not eaten food for fourteen years. Shri Ram said – But during the fourteen years of exile, I kept giving Lakshman’s share of fruits and flowers regularly. I lived in a hut with Sita, Lakshman was in the next hut, then how is it possible that I did not even see Sita’s face and did not sleep for fourteen years?

Agastya Muni smiled after understanding the whole thing. Something is hidden from God! Actually, everyone used to praise only Shri Ram but Lord wanted that Lakshman’s penance and bravery should also be discussed in every house of Ayodhya.

Agastya Muni said – Why not ask Lakshmanji? Lord Lakshmanji came and said whatever is asked of you, tell the truth. The Lord asked – All three of us lived together for fourteen years, then how did you not see Sita’s face? How did you remain non-vegetarian even after being given fruits? And did you not sleep for fourteen years? How did this happened ?

Lakshmanji told – Brother, when we went to Rishyamook mountain in search of sister-in-law, Sugriva asked us to identify her by showing us her jewellery. You will remember that I could not identify any jewelery except the anklets on her feet because I had never looked at her feet. Hear about not sleeping for fourteen years – You and mother used to sleep in a hut. I used to stand guard outside the whole night with my bow loaded with arrows. When sleep tried to capture my eyes, I pierced it with my arrows.

Nidra defeated and accepted that she would not touch me for fourteen years but when Shri Ram would be coronated in Ayodhya and I would stand behind him like a servant with an umbrella, then she would surround me. You might remember that the umbrella had fallen from my hand during the coronation. Now how did I remain a vegetarian for 14 years! You used to divide the fruits and flowers I brought into three parts. After giving me one part, you used to tell me to keep the Lakshman fruit. You never asked me to eat the fruit – then how could I eat it without your permission?

I kept them safely. All the fruits would still be kept in the same hut. On the orders of Lord Lakshmanji, he brought a basket of all the fruits from the hut of Chitrakoot and kept it in the court. The fruits were counted, there were no fruits for seven days. The Lord said- It means that you had taken food for seven days?

Lakshmanji told about the lack of seven fruits – no fruits came in those seven days:—

1–The day we got the news of our father passing away, we remained fasting.

2–Who would go to fetch fruits on the day Ravana abducted his mother?

3–The day you meditated on the ocean and were asking for guidance from it.

4–The day you remained unconscious the whole day after being tied in the snake’s noose of Indrajit.

5–The day Indrajit killed the elusive Sita and we remained in mourning.

6–The day Ravana hit me with power,

7–And the day you killed Ravana.

Where were we concerned about food during these days? I had learned an additional knowledge from Vishwamitra Muni – the knowledge of living without food. By using it I was able to control my hunger for fourteen years due to which Indrajit was killed. After hearing about the penance of Lakshmanji, Lord Shri Ram took him to his heart.

Jai Shri Ram
