Importance of planting trees in Puranas.

3. It is said in Bhavishya Purana that for a couple who have not had a child, trees are like children.

5. It is said in Varaha Purana that the person who plants one peepal, neem, banyan, two pomegranate, orange, five mango trees and ten flowering plants does not go to hell.
6. According to Matsya Purana, one stepwell is equal to ten wells, one pond is equal to ten stepwells, one son is equal to ten ponds and one tree is equal to ten sons.
7. Shiv Purana says that, those who plant trees and plants in desolate and inaccessible places, such people give a message to their previous and future generations.

Astrologer Navratna Vats says that planting Peepal, Banyan and Sycamore trees in the month of Ashadh is also very important. These trees and plants are considered to be the form of Lord Vishnu. In which Madar should be planted for Sun, Palash for Moon, Khair for Mars and Apamarg i.e. Chirchita for Mercury and Peepal tree for Guru. At the same time, the method of planting Gular for Venus, Shami for Saturn, Durva for Rahu and Kusha for Ketu has been mentioned in the scriptures.
