Vaastu in Puja

Share

how many statues are there
: There should not be more than 2 or 3 idols in the puja room of the house nor too many pictures of Gods and Goddesses. It is important to have a small puja room in which some special puja symbols should be kept. However, this rule does not apply in public temples. There are other rules of Vaastu there. There should be pictures of Gods and Goddesses only in the temple; pictures of any saint, Baba or ancestors should not be kept.

Shaligram
: A type of idol of Vishnu which is usually in the form of stone tablets or batis etc. and has the symbol of Chakra on it. The rock which does not have this symbol is not considered suitable for worship. This is greater than all other idols. According to Vastu, it is considered very auspicious, but only a person who takes care of purity should keep it in the house.

Shivalinga
: A type of idol of Shiva which is usually in a circular shape holding a sacred thread. It is called Shivalinga i.e. the light of Shiva. It is greater than all other idols. By having Shalagram and Shivling in the house, balance is maintained in the energy of the house and all kinds of auspiciousness is maintained.

Lamp
: Traditional lamp is made of clay only. There are five elements in it: soil, sky, water, fire and air. It is said that the universe was created from these five elements only. Therefore, presence of the five elements is mandatory in every Hindu ritual.

Garuda Bell:
In those places where the sound of bells is heard regularly, the atmosphere there always remains pure and sacred. This removes negative powers. Removing negativity opens the doors to prosperity. Garuda bell is kept at the worship place of the house.

shell :
Goddess Lakshmi resides in the house where there is a conch shell. The conch is a deity like the Sun and the Moon, with Varuna in the middle, Brahma in the back and rivers Ganga and Saraswati in the front. The benefits one gets from pilgrimage are the same benefits one gets from seeing and worshiping the conch.

Water urn:
A pot filled with water is considered the seat of the gods. Actually, we consider water as a pure element, which attracts God. It is also called Mangal Kalash. A bronze or copper Kalash is filled with water, some mango leaves are put in it and a coconut is placed on its mouth. Roli, Swastika symbol is made on the Kalash and Mauli (Nada) is tied around its neck. Betel leaves and betel nuts are also put in the water urn.

Cowry:
Since ancient times, some such traditions or measures have been prevalent, if adopted, one gets the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. Yellow cowrie is considered a symbol of Goddess Lakshmi. Tying each yellow coin separately in a red cloth and keeping it in the safe and pocket of the house increases wealth and prosperity. Although it is also kept in the temple.

Copper Coin:
Copper has more ability to generate Satvik waves than other metals. The waves rising in the pot enter the atmosphere. If copper money is put in the Kalash, it will open the doors of peace and prosperity in the house. These measures may seem small but their impact is tremendous.

Sunlight :
Incense expands the fragrance. Fragrance creates positive feelings and thoughts in your mind and brain. This makes the atmosphere of your mind and home pure and fragrant. This removes all types of Vaastu defects. Fragrance has great importance in life. Incense is not called incense stick. Burn incense instead of incense sticks at home or temple.
