Shankaracharya Mandir/Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi Kedarnath, Uttarakhand

Share

the more you know him, the more you understand how much Adi Shankaracharya ji has done for Sanatan Dharma and very few people know about him…established the four sacred dhams in India that are an important pilgrimage for Hindus.

Lying slightly behind the Kedarnath Temple is the grave of Adi guru Shankaracharya.

The current shrine of Kedarnath is said to have been built by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century AD. It is said that after establishing four sacred Mathas, Shankaracharya attained Nirvana at this place at the age of 32 years.

the earlier structure was washed away in the 2013 flood and a new one was inaugurated by PM Modi sometime back.

Adi sankaracharya was a Hindu monk and a myth and a mistry man, and perhaps undescribable by any adjective. This yogipurus renovated Hinduism from derailed Buddhism within his ultra short life span.Due to his intellect, knowledge, dedication and activities he can only be described as a “brahmapurush”. He took his last breath at Kedarnath the age of 32yr. Guruvandana and vairagyasatakam are very popular among the scripts written by him. His samadhi Mandir and idol is very beautiful.

The current shrine of Lord Kedarnath is said to be bulid by Adi Guru Shankaracharya, who attained Nirvana at that place in nearby 832 A.D. It is none other than Jagat Guru Shankaracharya who rebuild the faith of Hinduism after establishing four Mathas in the four direction of our country. This newly build samadhi sthal is a must visit place for everyone who visit Kedarnath.
