The history of Achaleshwar Dham dates back to the Mahabharata period.

Achaleshwar Mahadev, the God of Gods, is present on the banks of Achal Sarovar in the middle of the city. The history of the temple dates back to the Mahabharata period. Whenever devotees start any auspicious work, they definitely come to seek the blessings of Bhole ji. In the month of Sawan, there is a flood of devotion towards Lord Bhole. There are more than 50 temples around Achal Sarovar. In which Gods and Goddesses reside. The whole atmosphere becomes devotional with the recitation of Aarti in the evening. A huge statue of Lord Shiva has been installed on the kiosk of the lake.

This is the history of the temple

During the Mahabharata period, Pandavas were given exile. Nakul and Sahadeva, both younger brothers of Pandavas, had come here and took bath in the lake. After that worshiped at Baba Achaleshwar Dham. Gradually religious belief continued to increase. Achaleshwardham is Baba Siddhapeeth, whatever one wishes from the heart is definitely fulfilled, hence temples started being built around Achaleshwardham. Ganga water used to come from the Gomukhs built in Achalsarovar from the Barautha Ganga canal located in Harduaganj. With this water, Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva was performed and devotees used to take bath in the lake. The temple was renovated five hundred years ago.
