After all, how did Lord Shiva get the snake, trident, moon and damru?
In the idols and paintings of Mahadev, he is always shown holding a trident, moon, serpent and damru, and the waters of the Ganges flow continuously from his feet.
1: Chandrama: The 27 daughters of Prajapati Daksha were married to Chandra Dev.
2: Trishul: This world is threefold. It is made up of the balance of these three qualities which are known as Tamo, Rajo and Sato. To govern this creation it is necessary to have harmony among them. Bholenath balances all of them. Mahadev’s Trishul is a symbol of these qualities.
3: Serpent: The serpent that Bholenath holds in his throat is called Vasuki. Vasuki obtained this blessing from Bholenath by doing hard penance. It is believed that during the churning of the ocean, Shankara drank a poison called Halakhala and he was called Neelkanth. Part of this poison was absorbed by the serpents and they also became poisonous.
4: Damru: In the beginning of the world, Brahma created Goddess Saraswati. ”
