Share

The Lakshmi Devi temple is an early 12th-century Hindu temple complex in Doddagaddavalli village in Hassan District, Karnataka, India. The main temple has four-shrines that share a common mandapa, each sanctum being a square and aligned to a cardinal direction.

Very powerful and ancient temple of about 1000-1500 years old. Architecture of temple is marvelous and not sure how they made such structure in those days without having any mechanical tools. It is unique temple to have Lord Vishnu placed infront of Kaalika devi and Lord Shi a placed infront of Maha Lakshmi.

Doddagaddavalli Lakshmi Temple is a serene and lesser-known gem, featuring both Goddess Lakshmi and a Shiva Linga under one roof, making it unique among temples. As a protected national monument, it is managed by the central government, ensuring its historical significance is preserved. The temple’s simple yet beautiful architecture reflects the rich heritage of the region, providing a peaceful atmosphere for visitors.
