Ardhagiri Anjaneya Swamy Temple/Aragonda Anjaneyaswamy Chittoor
It is said that the temple is located on the very piece of Sanjeevani mountain that Lord Hanuman was carrying to save Lord Laxmana. There was absolutely no crowd when we visited the temple and the darshan was completed in a jiffy. The ‘Garbha Gudi’ is very dark with just a couple of lit jyothis to see the diety. On top of the Lord Hanuman idol are the idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshmana which is not clearly visible due to lack of any form of light which is very unfortunate.
An entry fee of ₹5 is collected to enter the temple.
There’s a kalyani adjacent to the temple which is said to be very sacred and the water from the kalyani has the power to heal skin diseases. But the staff there said that the water originated on the hill inside the kalyani.
There’s a Lord Shiva, Godess Parvati and Lord Aiyappa temple on this moutain near the Hanuman temple but you will need to climb few steps. It’s worth it for the temple itself and the view from up there is just great.
