Arulmigu Sri Narasimhaswamy Temple Namakkal/Hanuman Mandir
Sri Narasimha Swamy temple in Namakkal is at the base of salagrama hill. This 13 th century Pallava period temple is about 50 kms from Salem town. This spacious temple has shrines for Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, Sri Namagiri Thaayaar and other deities. The main sanctum is carved out of the hill. Large deity of Lord Sri Narasimha Perumal in the centre with Lord Siva and Lord Bramha on his side. There are exquisitely sculptured deities of Sri Vaikunda Narayanan, Sri Trivikraman (Vamana), Sri Varaha Swamy in the inner sanctum. As per legend Lord Vishnu has revealed his Narasimha Avatar to Sri Lakshmi here. Much revered Sri Anjineya Swamy of Namakkal ( in a separate temple in a short distance) is facing Lord Narasimha Swamy with folded hands.
