Aswaklanta Temple
Aswaklanta Temple is one of the ancient temples in Assam, popular as a Hindu pilgrimage center, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Lord Anantasai Vishnu and Lord Janardana are the two main deities of the temple.
The temple is renowned for its scenic beauty, and the walls are detailed with thrilling cravings. There is a common belief among the people that those who commit sins can attain salvation if they visit the temple.
The temple was damaged in the Great Earthquake of 1897, but it was repaired in 1901 under the patronage of Lord Curzon, the then viceroy of Assam.
Janmashtami and Ashokasthami are popular festivals that are celebrated here. The best time to visit the temple is between October and February.
