Vaneshwar Nath Mahadev temple of Devna village of Saharsa is amazing
Vaneshwar Nath temple is located in Devna village, located in West Balhapati Panchayat, about 5 km from Saharsa. This place is also known as Devanvan temple.
No one knows when the temple was built here. The elders say that in ancient times this place was surrounded by forests. A demon named Vanasura lived here. Vanasura was a descendant of the demon Hiranyakashyap. A demon named Vanasura established the Mahadev temple and Vandevi temple here and dug a big pond himself for worship. He was a devotee of Mahadev, hence the name of this temple was Vaneshwarnath temple.
Well, there are many legends about the establishment of this temple. It is said that this place was surrounded by forest, shepherds used to go to the forest to graze cows, a cow used to reach a place every day and spill all her milk. The shepherd was surprised by this and he told the people in the village. When the people dug, Mahadev appeared from under the soil.
At present, the original temple has been submerged in the belly of Kosi. Due to the erosion of Kosi, the ancient part of the temple has been submerged inside it. Later, some kind-hearted people of this place got together and got a new temple constructed. There is a huge crowd of devotees here in the month of Sawan.
