Bhiwani is known as Chhoti Kashi, while Tosham town of this district is also called the holy land of pilgrimage. Due to the historical religious places here, there is a constant flow of devotees throughout the day. The ancient building here called Barahdari is considered as the court of Prithviraj Chauhan. The inscriptions found in Pali language on the hill of Tosham have further increased the pride of this historical and religious place.

The feeling of devotion not only provides spiritual and mental peace to every person but also provides him with a spiritual environment and inculcates good qualities in him. Many religious places built in Hari’s state Haryana reveal the devotion of the people here. The religious atmosphere that is visible as soon as one enters Tosham, an ancient and historical town situated at a distance of 26 kilometers from Bhiwani headquarters and 45 kilometers from Hisar, makes every person its follower.Baba Mungipa Dham, built at a height of 200 feet of about 800 feet high hill, which has been the identity of Tosham town for years, is drenched in religious atmosphere with its amazing beauty. The grand statue of Baba Mungipa located in the sanctum sanctorum of Baba Mungipa temple attracts every devotee. Not only Tosham but also the people of the surrounding areas have deep faith in Baba Mungipa.Legend has it that once Baba Mungipa was absorbed in samadhi, a cow came there and broke his samadhi. As soon as Baba Mungipa raised his hand to remove the cow, the cow ran away in fear and fell down the hill and died. After that Mungipa considered himself guilty of cow slaughter and committed suicide. People believe that Baba Mungipa was a perfect man among the eighty-four Siddhas and sixty-four Yonis of the Buddha period.According to a popular legend, in ancient times, Gopinath, his sister Chandraval, maternal uncle Bhrithahari and Guru Gorakhnath had also come to Tosham hill. After spending some time in the forests of the hill, Gopinath, Bhrithahari and Guru Gorakhnath left from here but Chandrawal made it his abode. Due to wearing coral colored clothes, Chandrawal was named Mungi Maa, which later became Baba Mungipa.The temple of Baba Mungipa was constructed by the devotees in the year 1967. The grand statues of many gods and goddesses installed in the temple attract the devotees. Due to the fame of Baba Mungipa, now this religious place has come to be known as Baba Mungipa Dham. With the help of Mahant Lalji, a paved road has also been built from the bottom to the top of Baba Mungipa’s temple so that the devotees do not have to face any inconvenience.On the right side of the attractive entrance of Baba Mungipa Dham, there is a beautiful park in which statues of many gods and goddesses are decorated. Kirtan and satsang are organized by women devotees in this park in the morning and evening. The huge Baba Mungipa Dharamshala is also established on the left side of the entrance of Mungipa Dham. Nanha Ram Shastri, the current Mahant of Mungipa Dham, told that Baba Mungipa takes away the pain of all the devotees and erases all their troubles in a moment.Every Tuesday, innumerable devotees come to Baba Mungipa for darshan and receive his fruitful blessings. Before every auspicious work, devotees take blessings of Baba Mungipa. On Tuesday, newly married couples also reach here to seek blessings of Baba Mungipa.
