Bhowvapar is the city of Baba Munjeshwar Nath, 19 km away from the city. It is believed that Baba Munjeshwarnath has not allowed a roof to be built over himself till date. Some kings tried to keep the roof, but it would collapse on its own at night. After that the effort stopped. Baba is seated in the shade of a giant tree combined with Peepal and Banyan.
There are hundreds of snakes
Hundreds of snakes live on the trees here. They also fall down suddenly or come down from the tree in the month of Shravan. Till date he has never harmed any devotee.
Many other people of the area including Raja Munj Singh, the king of Satya, tried to give the form of a temple on Shivalinga, but no roof could rest on Baba’s head. The structure of the temple completely collapses.
There is a crowd of devotees here every Monday and Saturday, but most people come here during the month of Shravan and Mahashivratri.
Named Munjeshwarnath due to its establishment by Raja Munj.
– A worker’s shovel hit a stone lying under the roots of the bushes and the upper part of the stone broke due to the blow of the shovel.
– The laborer was trying to remove this Shivalinga shaped stone from there, then the laborer saw the figure of Lord Shiva in that stone and a stream of milk started flowing from the broken spot. The laborer got scared after seeing this scene and reached the royal court. He told the whole story to Raja Satasi Raja Munj Singh.
According to local resident Dr. Rajneesh Tripathi, King Munj also saw Lord Bhole Shankar in his dream on the same night. With the permission of God, King Munj installed Shivalinga at the same place as per the rituals.
Baba is named Munjeshwarnath Dham because he emerged from the bushes in self-contained form or was established by King Munj. The depth of Shivling has not been known till date.
Raja Horil Singh had also tried to give the form of a temple to the sanctum sanctorum.
Temples of Goddess Parvati and other gods and goddesses are established here. All those temples have roofs but this Shivalinga has not been roofed till date. It is said that other kings including Raja Horil Singh of the Eighty-seventh Dynasty also tried to give the shape of the temple but the structure collapsed. Later, something inauspicious started happening in the family of Raja Horil Singh.
After this incident, the Brahmins got Rudrabhishek performed by King Horil Singh, only then peace could be established in his family.
