Nageshwara Temple is located in the heart of the city- Kanpur. It is one the renowned Temples not only in Uttar- Prades but in India as well. Lord Shiva is worshipped here in his Shivlinga Avatara and inside the main sanctum; a white- marbled Shivlinga is fixed. People come and visit on every Mondays to get blessings for their family members.
This famous temple attracts a large number of tourists and pilgrims across India and abroad throughout the year. Special hymns and the prayers are offered in the morning and evening every day besides on special occasions and during festive seasons. Makara Sankranti, Maha Shivaratri, VaisakhaSankranti, Shravana Mondays, etc. are celebrated with great zeal and splendour. A five-daystate level function is held here on Maha Shivratri every year.
