This temple of Baba Vishwanath is the second form of Kashi Jyotirling, Shivling came by flowing in Ganga.

Vishwanath temple of Chaudharyapur in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh remains the center of faith of the devotees. It is believed that Shivalinga was established here long before the reign of Emperor Harshvardhan. According to Shivkumar Singh Chandel, General Secretary of Baba Vishwanath Barahi Devi Seva Samiti, this temple was established around the eighth century. There is a legend that this Shivling came to Mother Ganga from the Himalayan Mountains while flowing in Mother Ganga.

These days, this temple of Baba Vishwanath remains the main center of faith of the devotees. Devotees from far and wide come here for darshan on the day of Sawan and every Monday. Since Ganga ji is nearby, devotees bring Ganga water from there and perform Jalabhishek of Baba Vishwanath.
