Badavilinga Temple is a wonderful temple in Hampi dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Hindu deity Shiva is worshipped in the form of a Linga in this temple. The Badavilinga temple is located near the Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. Tourists as well as devotees flock to the temple throughout the year.

Badavilinga is a fusion of two words – “Badva” for poor and “Linga,” representing Lord Shiva. Legend says that the Shivalinga inside the Badavilinga Temple was commissioned by a poor peasant woman living near the Virupaksha Temple at the Hampi site. A heritage monument recognised worldwide, the temple is a symbol of spiritual and religious significance for Hindus worldwide. As the holy site boasts of one of the oldest standing Shivalinga in existence.
