It is believed that the Shivlinga installed here was established by Valmiki ji. That is why it is named Balimekeshwar Pada. A stone Shivlinga is installed inside the temple. The temple is built in dome style. The idol of Narayana is also situated in the temple which is very beautiful. A fair is held here on the day of Shivaratri and Bala Chaturdashi. There is a tradition of lighting Satbeej and Deepi in the temple.
