Bankeshwar Temple is a place of worship in Jat, Sangli, Maharashtra. Bankeshwar Temple is situated near the Hindu temple Ram Mandir and near Fort Rajwada. The temple is from the Mahabharata period. Bhima had killed the demon named Vakrasura here. That is why the temple was named Vakreshwar. Later it was named Bankeshwar.
