Baradi Loknath Babar Ashram is built based on Baba Loknath Brahmachari a saint and Hindu religion’s spiritual philosopher in Bengal. The Ashram is in Baradi, Sonargaon Upazila in Narayanganj District under Dhaka Division. The temple is 35 kilometers from Dhaka. There is a guest house, Durga mondop and pond in the ashram area. Samadhi of Baba is in this temple. The place is also very near to Joyti Basu’s paternal house. It is holy place for Bengali Hindu pilgrimages. Main festivals day is celebrated in June every year of Tirodhan Dibos (on Tithi) of Baba. The place also the birth place of great Indian left leader’s father of Joyti Basu. Great quotation of Baba Loknath to his devotees: “Whenever you are in danger, whether in war, forest, ocean or jungle, remember me. I shall save you.” Baba Loknath was born on 31 August 1730 (Bengali calendar 18th Bhadra, 1137) on the sacred day of Krishna Janmashtami in in the village of Chaurasi Chakla, named as Kochua, few miles far from Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, now in West Bengal, India. He is from a Brahmin family. His father name was Sri Ramnarayan Ghoshal and mother name was Shrimatee Kamaladevi. He has lot of followers and devotees around the world. He has traveled many pilgrimages on foot of Persia, Arabia and Israel, Mecca. They believe at the age of 160, on June 1, 1890 C.E. Baba Loknath took his Samadhi (Left his life means died). There is only one photograph is available at present of Baba. Every year on 19th Jaistha , the Tirodhan festival of Loknath Brahmachari , a great man of the Hindu community , is celebrated here. On this day in 1890 (Bengali 1298), the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Sri Loknath Brahmachari passed away. This festival and fair is organized to commemorate the day of his great demise with devotion and reverence. Millions of Loknath devotees from neighboring countries including India , Nepal , Bhutan and Sri Lanka flocked to Bardi Ashram to participate in the Tirodhan festival . On the 19th of Jaistha, a fun event is organized to collect the lollipop sweets thrown by the devotees from the roof of the ashram which is known as “Hari Loot”. Besides, Gita goes on all day long Various religious ceremonies including lessons, Balyabhog, Loknath biography lessons, Rajbhog, distribution of prasad and Aarti Kirtan . The Loknath Ashram in Bardi is now not only a place of pilgrimage for Hindus, but also a gathering place for people of all faiths, irrespective of religion, caste and creed. A week-long fair is held at the Tirodhan festival of Loknath Brahmachari. Huge green field right in front of the ashram. This is where the fair sits. A huge event is organized here centering on this fair. Thousands of products come from different areas. When it comes to extravagant utensils, how much more is the fruit of the meal. People from many religions come to this fair in many countries. This is a huge event. It lasts for a week and night.
