Beneshwar means a place where you will be able to enjoy the sweet fragrance of the soil of Dakshinanchal of Rajasthan. This island, built at the confluence of three rivers, is not just a tourist spot, but millions of people have faith here. During the month of Magh i.e. around February, a huge ten day fair is organized here. In the year 2017, this fair has started on 7th February, which will continue till Panchami i.e. 15th February. This is the best time to visit this place for those interested in religious tourism.
This is a place which is recognized all over the world because of its history related to tribal culture. Beneshwar Island, surrounded by the sacred waters of Mahi, Som and Jakham rivers in Banswara district, is not only the center of natural beauty but also presents a view of diverse cultures. This Dham is situated 45 kilometers away from Banswara district headquarters. Lakhs of people come here for darshan and holy bath during the fair held in the month of Magh.
Apart from Vagad region, a large number of participants from different parts of the country, especially Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, also participate in the fair. During the fair, all facilities for bathing, bone immersion, deity darshan, shopping and entertainment are provided at the holy Jal Sangam Tirtha.
According to public opinion, this fair has been happening for about three hundred years. Here the stories of Saint Mavji Maharaj and Beneshwar are prevalent everywhere. This fair remains resonating with the slogan of ‘Jai-Jai Whala Mavji, Jai-Jai-Jai Beneshwar Dham’.
Fair Timings:
Here a huge fair is held for ten days from Magh Shukla Ekadashi. The main fair fills up on Magh Purnima. The fair ends on Panchami.
