Bhadra – Very useful thing
Rakshabandhan is on 19th August. Bhadra is discussed everywhere on Rakshabandhan and Holi. What is Bhadra? Today let’s know this for the first time – Panchang has 5 parts – Tithi, Vaar, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karan. Among the five organs, the name of one organ is Karan. There are 11 Karans. Half of the Tithi is called Karan. The name of one Karan is also Vishti, its synonym is Bhadra.
Astrologer Maharishis, from their experience, did not consider this Karan as auspicious and even wrote that “A person who wants to survive in Bhadra, that is, stay healthy, should not do any auspicious work in Bhadra.
Especially for Rakshabandhan and Holi, it has been said that ~ Bhadrayan Dwe Na Dutvaye Shravani Phalguni Tath! Shravani Nripati Hanti Gram Dahati Phalguni! In this verse, Shravani means Rakshabandhan and Phalguni means the full moon of Phalguna i.e. Holi, it means that if Rakshabandhan is celebrated in Bhadra, then the king i.e. the head of the house faces great trouble and on the day of Holi, Holika is burnt in Bhadra. If it goes then the nation and the village will be destroyed.
In the Puranas, Bhadra is considered to be the daughter of Surya and sister of Saturn. Its presence is considered prohibited in auspicious works. It is also believed that the offering made in Bhadra is received only by Bhadra, after this the offering made after that is received by God.
On August 19, Bhadra will remain till 1:30 pm, from 1:48 pm to 4:22 pm and from 6-57 pm to 9-10 pm will be the best time to tie Rakhi.
It is relevant to mention here that Shravan Kumar died when he was unknowingly hit by an arrow by King Dasharatha. The king felt very sad and as an atonement he announced that Shravan Kumar would be worshiped on the day of Rakshabandhan and the first Rakhi would be Shravan. Will be presented to Kumar, since then this tradition is going on till today.
