Temple priest Jugal Kishore Dubey told that this temple of Bhairav ji is about 450 years old and Bhairav ji himself had appeared here. Maharani Lakshmi Bai had renovated this temple in 1940, after which her descendants continued taking care of the temple. A huge crowd of devotees throngs this temple on Saturdays and Sundays.

On the occasion of Bhairav Jayanti, there was a huge crowd of devotees in the temple on Saturday. On this occasion, a huge Bhandara was also organized in the temple in which Bhairav Baba’s Prasad was distributed to the devotees.
Bhairav is another form of Shiva
According to the Puranas, Bhairav ji was born from the part of Lord Shankar at midday on Margashis Krishnashtami, hence this day is celebrated like a festival as “Bhairavashtami”. According to Shatrudra Samhita of Shiv Purana, Lord Sadashiv had incarnated in the form of Bhairav on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Margashish.Therefore, he should be considered as Lord Shankar in reality. According to the Puranas, Bhairav is another form of Lord Shiva, the meaning of Bhairav is both terrible and nourishing, even time remains afraid of him. That is why he is called “Kaal Bhairav”. Lord Shiva has two forms, Bhairav Nath and Vishwa Nath. One form is extremely monstrous, ferocious, terrifying, ferocious and the other form is a symbol of extreme modesty, compassion, peace and gentleness. The first form is for punishing sinners, apostates and criminals and the second form is considered to be gentle and for the protection of the world.
