Bharat Mandir/Bharat Kund Nandigram,Ayodhya
Nandigram, also known as Bharatkund, is a religious place located near the city of Ayodhya. It is an ancient pilgrimage site where Bharat ruled during the exile of Lord Rama. This place is also known as the Taposthali of Bharat, brother of Lord Rama.
Bharat ji daily took bath in this kund during the Ramayana era after Lord Ram Chandra ji went to forest for fourteen years with Janaki ji & Lakshman ji. This is a deep kund, if you don’t know swimming please don’t go deep inside. For bathing there are easy stairs which will take you down towards the water. Nearby is the place where Lord Ram and Bharat ji met after coming back to Ayodhya after exile, Hanuman- Bharat ji meeting place, Bharat ji famous mandir & Bharat koop ( a secred well, whose water is filled with 27 most famous tirthas of Bharat-Varsha). Divine place with greenery all around.
There is a very ancient lake which is known as Bharat Sarovar. Aarti started here every day from 13 December 2017, which is operated by Nandigram Bharatpur Aarti Seva Trust. It is developing as a major pilgrimage site on the way to Ayodhya Dham. Nearby there is Charan Paduka in Nandigram. The lake is very big in which people take bath considering it as holy water.
