Bhimkund is a natural water source and a holy place dating back to the Mahabharata period. The water of the Kund (pond) is so clear and transparent that fishes can be clearly seen swimming in the water. The Kund is located in a cave, it is about 3 meters from the mouth. There is a small Shivling on the left side of the entrance. The depth of Bhimkund has not been ascertained. Some scientists believe that below the 80 feet depth of this Kund, very fast moving water streams flow which connect it to the oceans. It is located in Bajna village, about 77 km from Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. It is a natural water pond. According to another legend, Vedic sage Narada sang Gandharva songs in praise of Lord Vishnu. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Vishnu emerged from the Kund and the water became blue due to Vishnu’s black complexion. The depth of this water pool is still unknown and mysterious. Whenever there is a disaster in India, the water level of this pool rises by 15 meters. Some people say that when the tsunami hit Mumbai in 2004, the water level rose, that is, this rise actually happened because it is connected to the sea.
