It is believed that Bhooteshwar Nath Mahadev fulfills whatever one asks for in this temple. People come here from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. This is the only temple of its kind. During the month of Shravan a lot of devotees gather here. Dayashankar, who has been visiting this temple for about 30 years, says that the glory of this temple is unparalleled. It is not known when the temple was founded. There are several steps leading up to the temple. On going up the temple stands on several pillars of stone. On seeing the sanctum sanctorum and the temple one gets the feeling of the antiquity of the temple. Inside the sanctum sanctorum, there is an ancient Shiva Linga. The length of the rope is about two meters. The Shivlinga looks very unearthly.
The family of priest Omprakash Pareek has been doing the work of service worship in the temple for thirteen generations. According to the priest, according to an article received from the temple, this temple is about 2100 years old. The name of the artisan who built this temple was Chandaram Kumawat. Centuries ago, this area was dominated by jinn and ghosts. These jinns used to kill the priest who came to the ghost temple.
Later, an ascetic named Mangal Bandi came here and conquered them by the power of his penance. Since then, the priests here started worshipping regularly. Mangal Bandi Maharaj used to indulge in penance at the place of penance near the temple. Even today his penance place is present on the right side behind the temple. The priest further explains that the lions used to sit near Maharaj like pet dogs. Maharaj used to take them to the pond to drink water. Maharaj was accompanied by four of his disciples, namely Kedar Bandi, Shankar Bandi etc. The youngest disciple died at the age of 12.
Mahant Sonu Pareek of this temple says that this temple located in the middle of the forest around Amer has great glory. But its establishment is said to be before the settlement of Jaipur city. Earlier this temple was alone in the middle of the hill. Gradually people came to know about this temple and a huge crowd started gathering here. This is the only temple located amidst the mountains and forests.
Looking at its structure it seems that the mandapa and dome of the temple were built in the 17th century itself. Its architecture resembles the buildings built at that time. People here say that gradually many more were built in it. The specialty of the temple is that it is set in the middle of deep and dense forest. People also reach here by trekking in the mountains and now it becomes very crowded. Bhubaneshwar Nath Mahadev Temple – Mangal Bandi Maharaj had taken Samadhi alive. His tomb is built on the left side just behind the temple. There is a lemon tree next to his samadhi, due to which it is completely forbidden to pluck lemons. At a little distance from the samadhi of Maharaj the samadhi of his three disciples is also built in a row. On the left side of the temple there is a place for organizing Sawamani and other religious programs. Offerings are being made outside. On the day of Sivaratri large number of devotees gather here. This temple is located in the middle of a hill, five kilometres inside the Nahargarh sanctuary in Amer. The history of this temple is very interesting. No one knows the history of this temple. It is said that this temple is before Jaipur and Amer.
This temple is alone in the forest. There are no villages in the vicinity. It is said that earlier there was no worship in this temple. No one stays here at night. In the meantime, a saint came and started worshipping in this temple. The saint was later buried alive there. His grave is still there. Now there is a lot of crowd here and worship is done vigorously.
