Birasini Mata Temple Birsinghpur Pali Madhya Pradesh
There is a famous temple of Birsini Mata in Birsinghpurpali of Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. A grand statue of Mata Kali built in the 11th century is present in the Birsini Mata temple. Birsini Mata is the form of Kali Maa. This statue is one of the few statues in India in which Goddess Kali’s tongue is not outside. Every wish asked by the devotees is fulfilled in the court of Mother Goddess. Childless couples who come to the temple are blessed with children.
The sanctum sanctorum of the temple houses the mother’s Lord Harihara, who is half of Lord Shiva and half of Lord Vishnu. Idols of other deities are installed around the temple. There are also small temples of Radha-Krishna, Madhi Mata, Lord Jagannath and Shanidev in the temple complex.
