This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Boreshwar Mahadev Temple was built in 1179 AD during the reign of Maharawal Samant Singh. It is situated on the banks of river Som. Shiva is one of the major deities of Hindu religion. He is the supreme being within Shaivism, one of the major traditions within contemporary Hinduism. Shiva is the “destroyer of evil and transformer” within the Trimurti, the Hindu trinity that includes Brahma and Vishnu.

The first rays of the sun fall on the Shivalinga in this temple. Which is considered most auspicious according to Vastu. In such circumstances, devotees like to visit the temple often. Devotees from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh also come here for darshan.
