Gurudwara Brahmakund has a special devotion towards Guru Granth Sahib. Every year on the occasion of Aghan Shukla Panchami, i.e. the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, more than a hundred recitations of Guru Granth Sahib are held here. This tradition is centuries old. This Gurudwara is historic. In 1500, the first Guru Nanak Dev reached Ramnagari while going from Haridwar to Jagannathpuri and lit a fire at the place of penance of Brahma Ji situated on the banks of Saryu, where this Gurudwara developed over time. In 1668, while going from Assam to Anandpur, the ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur also came to this place and meditated for 48 hours. While leaving, he presented his wooden sandals to the Brahmin servant here as a memento. These wooden sandals are still preserved in the Gurudwara.
