Shri Ram had established Shivalinga in Budhenath Mahadev Temple.

The Shivalinga installed in the Budhenath Mahadev Temple located on the banks of the Ganga in Saidpur Nagar was made by Lord Shri Ram with his own hands. Here the wishes made with true heart definitely get fulfilled. There is a huge crowd of devotees here not only in the month of Sawan but also in the month of Baraho. It is said that in Tretayuga, the bravery of the four sons of King Dasharatha was talked about in the entire world since their childhood. At the same time, a demon named Tadka started disrupting the yagya of the sages. Then Vishwamitra reached the court of King Dasharatha in Ayodhya. He told the problem of the sages to the king and asked him to take his elder sons Shri Ram and Lakshman along with him. After convincing the king, sage Vishwamitra left with both the princes. They were going from forest to forest along the banks of Ganga to kill Tadka. At the same time, in the evening, Rishi Vishwamitra rested for the night on the banks of Ganga in Nagar. After waking up in the morning, he asked Shri Ram to build a Shivalinga for worship.Then younger brother Lakshman brought sand from the bank of Ganga and Shri Ram established Shivalinga. Both the princes along with sage Vishwamitra worshiped Shivalinga and left. With time the Shivalinga sank into the ground on the banks of the Ganges. Years ago, some people were digging at that place and a Shivalinga was seen. People thought that it should be removed and installed somewhere else. Even after digging very deeply, the end of Shivalinga could not be found. From that time people started worshiping here. Since Shivlinga was very ancient, it got fame by the name of Budhenath Mahadev. Thousands of devotees arrived on Tuesday, the first day of Sawan, to perform Jalabhishek on Vishveshwarnath Mahadev established in Varah Dham of Aurihar. The Shiva temple of Vishweshwarnath Mahadev situated on the banks of river Ganga has been a center of reverence for hundreds of years. Here Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati are present in the form of two Shivalingas in the same Argha. To worship whose form, a fair-like atmosphere is created in the month of Sawan. It is believed that there was once an ashram of Shringi Rishi here. It was Shringi Rishi who performed the Putryeshti Yagya at the house of Maharaj Dasharatha. After which Lord Ram along with his three brothers were born. After the incarnation of Lord Ram, the importance of Shringi Rishi and his ashram had increased a lot. So much so that apart from all the sages and saints of the world, a crowd of Gods and Goddesses of heaven also started gathering at his ashram in Aurihar.In those days, Hiranyaksha, son of sage Kashyap, after receiving a boon from Lord Brahma, went into the abyss along with the earth. Then Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Varaha and saved the earth. After that Lord Vishnu became anxious to meet Mahadev. It was in the ashram of Shringi Rishi in Aurihar that Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati appeared before him. After that, the forms of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati were established in the form of two Shivlingas and they started being worshipped.
