Chandika Sthan: Mother’s left eye is worshiped in this Shaktipeeth of Bihar, here Angraj Karna used to donate gold.
Chandika place of Munger is also included among the 52 Shaktipeeths of the country. There is a huge crowd of devotees here during Navratri. It is believed that the eye of Goddess Sati had fallen here. After this the temple was established here. Mother’s left eye is worshiped in Shaktipeeth. Temple priest Nandan Baba told that here King Karna of Anga region used to donate one and a quarter maund of gold every day. It is also described in the Mahabharata period.
During Navratri, the worship of Mother Goddess starts from 3 o’clock in the morning and special worship is done in the evening. Special puja is done here on the day of Navratri Ashtami, on this day the Goddess is decorated grandly. It is believed that Mother Goddess fulfills all the wishes of the people who come here. Devotees come here not only from Munger but also from Bihar and India. There are devotees of Mother Chandika Devi in foreign countries also. They also come here on the occasion of Durga Puja.
