Firozabad has a history hidden in itself. The name was changed after Mohammad Ghori attacked Krishnapur. After that Dara Shikoh also changed the name of this city.

Shikohabad is situated about 14 kilometers away from Firozabad headquarters. Chaumukhi Temple, which contains its history inside this city, is the center of faith and reverence. This temple has seen many incidents. Chaumukhi temple established during the war of Lord Shri Krishna and Jarasandha. Which was destroyed by the attack of Mohammad Ghori, even today the people of the city have special respect for it.
Krishnapur was once Shikohabad
Shikohabad city of Firozabad district was earlier named Krishnapur. All the battles between Lord Shri Krishna and Jarasandha took place at this place. That’s when Lord Krishna established the Chaumukhi temple. This city used to be the border of the kingdom of Yaduvanshi kings. After him, Mughal ruler Mohammad Ghori attacked here and damaged the temple but could not even touch the Shivalinga present in the temple. Mohammad Ghauri changed its name to Mohammadabad.
It is said that his brother Dara Shikoh, troubled by Aurangzeb, lived here in Bhagwant’s garden and taught him the message of love. In memory of Dara Shikoh who was murdered, Kishanpur was shifted to Shikohabad. But Kishanpur Mohammadabad is written in the deed of sale document. Even today there is no dearth in the mythological belief of this temple. There is a crowd of devotees here. The wishes of the devotees are fulfilled in this temple.
