Dhopaap Mandir is a revered Hindu temple nestled in the serene landscapes of Uttar Pradesh, India. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this ancient shrine holds deep spiritual significance and is a place where devotees come to seek blessings and find peace. The temple is renowned for its unique rituals, which have been practiced for centuries, drawing pilgrims from far and wide. Surrounded by lush greenery and a tranquil atmosphere, Dhopaap Mandir offers a perfect setting for meditation and worship. The temple’s rich history, combined with its religious importance, makes it a cherished site for both locals and visitors alike.

Dhopap became famous with the arrival of Lord Ram in Tretayug, its history is very interesting.

Sultanpur: Dhopap, a pilgrimage site of mythological and historical importance in the district, is famous because of its connection with the arrival of Lord Shri Ram in Treta Yuga. After killing Ravana, on the advice of sages, Lord Ram got freedom from his sins by taking a dip in Adi Ganga Gomti, since then this place was named Dhopaap. Every year, on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra, more than one lakh devotees come here to bathe, darshan and worship in order to get rid of their sins through bathing.

It is said that after the killing of Lanka’s husband Ravana in Treta Yuga, Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram was considered guilty of the sin of killing Brahma. His family guru had taken the help of other sages. After much deliberation, on the advice of the sages, a black crow on a leaf was floated in the river. The crow had turned white after reaching this place of Mother Gomti. Therefore, this place was considered suitable for bathing.

By taking bath here, Lord got freedom from Brahma Dosha. The ghat where Shri Ram took bath is known as Ramghat. Every year, on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month (Ganga Dussehra), devotees not only from nearby but also from remote districts of the state come to take bath.
