Dhwajadhari Dham Shiv Mandir Koderma, Jharkhand

Dhwajadhari Dham Pahad, situated along the National Highway of Jharkhand-Bihar in Koderma, is a very important place of sacred religious faith for the people of Sanatan Dharma. Where people climb 777 steps to perform Jalabhishek on the Shivling established at a height of about one thousand feet. The statues of Lord Shiva-Parvati, Lord Ganesha and Veer Hanuman ji are installed on the top of the mountain. Shiv temple,krishna,Hanuman temple is situated here and a beautiful mountain which have a lot of scenes.

Mahant of Dhwajadhari Dham told that in Treta Yuga, Kardam Rishi, son of the creator Lord Brahma, had performed severe penance for many years in the cave situated on the top of the mountain. After this Lord Bholenath appeared in the form of a flag and a trident. The mountain was named Dhwajadhari. When the wish is fulfilled, people offer Trishul here.

This district has been named Koderma after the name of Han ascetic Kardam Rishi. On the occasion of Sawan, apart from the district, lakhs of devotees from other districts including neighboring state Bihar also come here to perform Jalabhishek. During the wedding season, people come to present the first invitation card of their wedding.

A large number of people get married here. Here only Rs 300 is charged from the girl’s side and Rs 600 from the boy’s side for marriage registration. A big hall has also been built for marriages. In which marriages of many people take place simultaneously.

Mahant, who has crossed the age of more than 50 years, along with his colleagues, climbs 777 steps every morning and performs Jalabhishek and puja havan along with chanting mantras at the Shivalinga situated on the top of the mountain. People have immense faith in Dhwajadhari Dham mountain. This is the reason why people easily climb this high mountain situated in the lap of nature. These days people also come here to get their children tonsured and to worship their vehicles.
