It is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus. Here Galav Rishi had done penance and with his blessings, a torrent of hot water flows through Gomukh here day and night. It is a belief that people get rid of their diseases by bathing in it.

Ganeshwar Dham is situated in Neemkathana tehsil of Sikar district. Ganeshwar civilization is more than 5000 years old, there is a hot water spring in Ganeshwar Dham which is known as Galav Kund, there are many ancient temples here. Jaipur is about 90 km away from here and Sikar is 80 km away.

Ganeshwar Shivdham is situated at the foothills of the hill at a distance of 16 km from Neemkathana. In ancient times, this area has been the place of penance for the sages of Nibarka sect. There is a source of hot and cold water flowing 24 hours in front of the temple. Lord Shiva is seen while standing in the water pond after bathing. The consecration of Lord Shiva is done from the continuously flowing hot water source.

Ganeshwar saw three cultural phases: Period 1 (3800 BCE) which was characterized by hunting and gathering communities using chert tools; Period II (2800 BCE) shows the beginnings of metalwork in copper and fired clay pottery; Period III (2000 BCE) featured a variety of pottery and copper goods being produced.
