Ghuguhi was the mother of Bamuni Konwar and the queen of the Ahom ruler named Tyao Khamti. This temple is said to have been constructed in the memory of Bamuni Konwar’s mother, and thus, has been named as Ghuguha Dol. This temple is considered to be very holy for the tribes living here and they pay their homage to the beautiful soul in whose memory this temple had been set up by offering regular prayers at the shrine.
