How Bajrangbali became Panchmukhi Hanuman :-
When there was a fierce war going on between the army of Ram and Ravana and Ravana was near his defeat, then to overcome this problem he remembered his elusive brother Ahiravan who was a great devotee of Mother Bhavani and a great master of Tantra Mantra. Was knowledgeable. With the help of his illusion, he put Lord Ram’s entire army into sleep and kidnapped Ram and Lakshman and took them to the underworld to sacrifice them.
After a few hours, when the influence of Maya subsided, Vibhishana recognized that this work was of Ahiravan and he asked Hanumanji to go to the underworld to help Shri Ram and Lakshman.
At the gate of the underworld he found his son Makardhwaj and after defeating him in the battle, met the hostages Shri Ram and Lakshman. There he found five lamps at five places in five directions which Ahiravan had lit for Mother Bhavani.
‘If these five lamps are extinguished together, Ahiravana will be killed, that is why Hanuman ji assumed the five-faced form, Varaha face in the north, Narasimha face in the south, Garuda face in the west, Hayagriva face towards the sky and Hanuman in the east. Taking this form, he extinguished the five lamps and By killing Ahiravana, Ram freed Lakshman from him.
