At a distance of 7 km from Bhopal Junction, the cave temple is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site located in the Lalghati area of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Situated on the top of a small hill, it is one of the popular places of pilgrimage in Bhopal, and one of the major attractions to visit during your trip to Bhopal. Also known as the Cave Temple, the Cave Temple was discovered in the year 1949 by Shri Mahant Narayandas Ji Tyagi. There are 7 natural caves in the huge temple complex, hence this temple was named Cave Temple. In one of these seven caves, there is the idol of Lord Shiva, whose mere darshan fulfills the wishes of the devotees. The cave containing the Shiva Lingam has a natural water supply which never dries up even in summer.
Beautiful tableaus of deities like Shri Radhakrishna and Shri Ram Janaki Lakshman are installed just below the cave in the temple complex. A Sanskrit college is also located in the temple complex.
Apart from the huge fair organized on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, a grand fair is organized in the temple during Navratri and Sawan. Various religious and cultural programs are organized during Navratri.
