Gupteshwar Mahadev/Gupteshwar Mandir Harda, Madhya Pradesh

Share

There is a place in the state where twelve Jyotirlingas are present together. Harda district of Madhya Pradesh, where 12 Jyotarlingas are present in the Gupteshwar temple complex of the city. The Gupteshwar temple of the city is more than 500 years old, which is built on the Ajnal river of the city. Temple committee members say that earlier there was a small monastery on the river bank in which Shivalinga was installed. Also, there is a cave in the sanctum sanctorum below it. Till date no one has known the secret of this cave. Since 2003, the temple was rebuilt by the committee and donors. After this, 12 Jyotirlingas were established here in the year 2019. Committee members say that devotees go to different states to have darshan of the twelve Jyotirlingas. In view of this, the committee got twelve Jyotirlingas established in the ancient Gupteshwar temple complex of the new Harda district.

The importance of these twelve Jyotirlingas is as much as that of the Jyotirlingas established in different states of India. Not only this, a Dakshin and Panchmukhi Hanuman ji temple is also established in the Gupteshwar temple complex, where earlier sages used to perform penance. If seen in a way, it is also a place of penance for sages and saints. A huge Shivalinga, statues of Lord Ganesha and Hanuman ji are installed in the temple premises. On every Monday in the month of Shravan, these twelve Jyotarlingas are consecrated and worshiped by the devotees. Also, on every Monday, special decoration of Lord Shiva is done, which devotees come from every corner of the city to see.
